Kevin White

Project Manager

Kevin is a veteran who served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years as a Federal Aviation Administration Licensed Air Traffic Controller and Air Traffic and Airspace Management Technician Warrant Officer. As an Air Traffic Controller, he held Facility Ratings in Ground Controlled Approach, Flight Following, and earned a Control Tower Operators License. Throughout his service, Kevin served in numerous countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kuwait, Iraq, Japan, Korea, and Germany.

He holds a bachelor’s in science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. During his time in the Army, he completed various Army Professional Development courses, such as the Aviation Warrant Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, and the Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Course. He also completed U.S. Airforce courses such as the Joint Fire Power Course, Joint Airspace Operations Command and Control course, and the Airlift Planners course.

He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has applied his expertise to various projects both during and after his military career as a Test Coordinator at Air and Missile Defense Command’s Missiles and Sensors Test Directorate at the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center.

In his current role, Kevin works as a Project Manager contracted through Fedwriters for the Uncrewed Systems Research Transition Office (UxSRTO) Program in the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) where he provides support to the UxSRTO team to facilitate Readiness Level progression of Uncrewed Systems and Research and Development to support NOAA’s mission. As a member of the UxSRTO team, Kevin utilizes his military experience in Uncrewed Systems Operations to collaborate with NOAA Line Offices, Federal Agencies, and other stakeholders to drive forward and optimize the implementation of UxS applications throughout the wide-ranging domains of NOAA’s mission areas, encompassing climate, weather, oceans, and coasts.
