Mary Solokas

John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow

Mary Solokas joined the UxSRTO team in February of 2023 as a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow. Prior to starting her fellowship, Mary earned a master’s degree in Freshwater and Marine Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a graduate research assistant in the Center for Limnology, Mary’s research focused on freshwater fisheries and climate change where she investigated how climate change is influencing the body size of cold-water salmonids.

Mary’s interest in environmental research began as she pursued a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. She worked as an undergraduate research technician on a social-ecological fisheries management project and conducted research on water treatment technologies subject to design requirements and constraints of developing nations. Mary is excited to be venturing into the world of uncrewed systems this year!
